Description

Located just 20 minutes by ferry from Horseshoe Bay and 25 minutes by water taxi from Granville Island, Island Pacific School is an IB World School that offers the Middle Years Program. Here, students and teachers establish strong learning partnerships in a climate of mutual respect. The curriculum and social environment promote scholarship, leadership, citizenship, and self-advocacy. They also prepare graduates for success in high school and beyond.     Application Requirements: As an independent school of choice we attract students and families that support the expressed mission, values, and philosophy of the school. The following procedure helps to determine a student's readiness and suitability for the programs offered by IPS: 1. Parents complete the admissions application in full. 2. Parents meet with the Head of School. 3. Student applicant visits IPS to get a sense of the learning environment offered here. 4. Student applicant meets with the Head of School. 5. Student applicants are assessed at the school during one of three scheduled small group testing sessions. 6. Outcome letter from Head of school: unqualified acceptance; qualified acceptance (some learning support required); wait-list, or not yet ready to meet the demands of the learning culture provided. 7. Parents pay a non-refundable $400 deposit applied toward tuition to guarantee student?s place.
