Description
St. Michaels University School (SMUS) is an independent day (Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12) and boarding (Grades 9-12) school located in Victoria, BC, on the traditional territory of the Straits Salish people. SMUS is recognized locally and globally for its high academic standards, wide-ranging extracurricular opportunities and commitment to student growth and well-being. Students from all over the world are drawn to the school’s vibrant learning environment, and many graduates go on to attend top universities in Canada, the United States and beyond. From the earliest years, core academic skills are balanced with enriching experiences in the arts, athletics, outdoor education, leadership and service. Each stage of the SMUS journey is developmentally appropriate, academically rigorous and personally meaningful. As a day and boarding school in an urban setting, SMUS offers students a unique opportunity to build independence and self-reliance within a safe, supportive and inclusive community. The school’s Mission — “Preparation for Life” — is at the heart of everything we do. Guided by the core values of respect, courage, honesty and service, SMUS students become articulate problem-solvers, compassionate leaders and globally minded citizens who care deeply about the world and their role in shaping it. |
