Description: The BSS Summer Academy offers students the opportunity to take a variety of full-credit courses, from July 2 – July 26, 2013. Classes run from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm with optional tutorials from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm daily. All credit courses meet the requirements set by the Province of Ontario for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Summer Academy courses are taught by experienced, committed teachers in small classes; an environment where students receive individualized instruction and attention.

Description: Essential Skills – This program covers material from the Grade 7 and 8 Ontario curriculum and is designed for those who would benefit from a review of some of the essential math skills such as: order of operations, integers, fractions, rates/ratio/percent, linear relationships.
Foundation Skills – This program reviews material from MPM1D and MPM2D. It is comprised mainly of an intensive review of algebra. Topics include: Linear functions, Quadratic functions, Systems of equations, Graphing, Factoring.

Math Enrichment – Think you have what it takes to become a mathlete? This program is devoted to solving problems and exploring unique approaches and techniques to conquer even the most challenging of problems. Students will participate in interactive labs and hands on activities to explore how mathematics shapes the world around us. The session is intended for students entering Grade 8 or 9 who have a passion for all things math.
